AllergyCheck®

Identify allergies – treat them effectively

The symptoms and causes of an allergy can vary widely. With just a small amount of blood from your fingertip, the ten most common airborne allergens can be tested.

Which allergens are tested?

The AllergyCheck® detects specific antibodies against allergens that typically trigger symptoms such as hay fever, asthma, or eye irritation.

Plant allergens
  • Mugwort (Artemisia vulgaris) – commonly found along roadsides, blooms from summer to autumn
  • Birch (Betula pendula) – found in parks, gardens and forests; blooms in spring
  • Ash (Fraxinus excelsior) – widespread in Central Europe; flowering period from March to May; possible cross-reactions with olive pollen
  • Pellitory (Parietaria judaica) – especially common in Mediterranean regions, grows on walls and rocks; blooms from June to September
  • Timothy grass (Phleum pratense) – widespread; one of the main causes of hay fever; flowering period from June to August

Other airborne allergens
  • House dust mites – found in mattresses, upholstered furniture and carpets; symptoms often occur at night or in the morning: blocked nose, asthma
  • Dog and cat epithelium – proteins in skin flakes and saliva can trigger reactions
  • Mould (Alternaria) – common in damp environments and on plants
  • Cockroaches – found worldwide; can trigger asthma and allergies

Who is the AllergyCheck® suitable for?

The test is suitable for individuals with:
  • Persistent runny nose
  • Itchy or watery eyes
  • Chronic cough or asthma
  • Seasonal or environment-related symptoms

What are cross-reactions?

Some allergens can cause cross-reactions with certain foods or other substances.

For example:
  • Birch, alder, hazel (Jan.–Apr.) → Pome & stone fruits, nuts, celery, soy
  • Mugwort (Jul.–Aug.) → Celery, carrot, fennel, parsley, coriander, caraway
  • House dust mites → Crustaceans (shrimp, crab)
  • Latex → Avocado, banana, chestnut, kiwi
  • Bird feathers → Chicken egg (yolk)
  • Cat epithelium → Pork

If you experience tingling in the mouth, itching or a burning sensation after consuming certain foods, this may be an allergic cross-reaction.
